Seafoam- engine, carb, injector cleaner
We’ve all seen it, those engine treatment chemicals for your car in auto parts stores, Walmart, or even the dollar store. We have to stop and think how effective these chemicals really are. Does the label on the bottle really adequately show what the chemical really does to your car? How can you trust a $1 bottle of fuel injector cleaner that goes into your gas tank? Look no further, Seafoam is truly the one stop solution for cleaning out your fuel lines, injectors, carburetors and other key components to your vehicle.
Seafoam is 100% petroleum product. You can apply it in three ways: put it in your gas tank, in your crankcase, or through a vacuum line. It is ideal if you do all three. Seafoam is available for purchase at practically every auto part store and places like Walmart for $9.99. If you see it for anything less, grab it right away as it is an extremely good deal. I got 2 cans of Seafoam the other day at Napa for $6.49 each. That is an extremely good deal.
I used Seafoam for the first time about 5 years ago on a 97 Civic. I have been a loyal customer ever since. You can feel the difference right away as Seafoam restores your car to its original condition. Put in half a pint of Seafoam into the crankcase and you will see that your oil will become very black within a couple of miles. That is, believe it or not, a good thing because the Seafoam is cleaning the entire gunk off of the valves, thus causing the oil to become black. You would want to do an oil change after this happens.
Next, you would want to put in a pint of Seafoam into your gas tank when you fill up. This will clean out the moisture in your fuel lines. Again, you will feel the difference as Seafoam works.
Last but not least, you feel the most difference when you apply it through one of your vacuum lines. It is best to use the line coming from the brake booster, just be careful because if you forget to replace the vacuum line, your brakes will not work! Once applied, you will see a lot of white smoke coming from your exhaust. This is the Seafoam cleaning out your injectors. This will restore all the lost horsepower from fouled injectors.
At $9.99, Seafoam is worth every cent, but yea, it is more expensive than other chemical cleaners out there. I believe it is more expensive for a reason. I highly recommend this product and give it a 5/5.
Here is a video I made for another site showing the importance of cleaning your injectors using Seafoam.
